June 2025 national restaurant sales metrics are in!
The trailing 4-week (28-day) average of year-over-year (YOY) sales for Fast Casual came in at +1.72% and Full Service at -0.46% at the end of June compared to 2024 sales.
Across the 7-day moving average chart, we saw positive sales throughout the month for Fast Casual, and a +2% bump on Father's Day weekend for Full Service and Fast Casual.
Food costs averaged 28% of sales last month, reflecting a 1% increase from May's average.
Fresh blueberries topped our Droppers list with prices -22% lower on average than in May, followed by Burssels sprouts (down -16%). For our Movers chart, pizza sauce prices had a +59% increase compared to May prices, followed by white bread (+31%) and teres major beef (+15%).
Regionally, most of the US saw positive sales month-long, with the Northeast coming in at +5% up from May.
