October leveled out
From the onset of Covid-19, October was the first month that we did not beat the prior month in terms of average open restaurant sales. October’s sales were fairly level with September’s, with the last few days trending downwards.
The south bound sales trend makes sense given the increase in Covid cases and the colder temperatures impacting the viability of outdoor seating. Both of these factors have been milder in the DMV, compared to the rest of the country, which shows up on the graph too.
Delivery is ticking up, a trend we expect to follow this winter. Happy to see that restaurant closures have stabilized, and we hope it stays that way.
