A Tough December for Twin Cities

The Twin Cities’ open restaurant sales were trending down all November, beginning December in the -70% range for a 7 day moving average. December sales stayed low for a while but trended up a little towards the end of the month. The numbers make sense given indoor dining restrictions in weather that doesn’t permit outdoor dining, and the slight bump can be attributed to more people staying in town compared to those days in 2019.

Hopefully restrictions and cases are more favorable going forward.
