Your March 2026 Mantra

Ah, March, too-chilly-for-flip-flops-but-a-little-sweaty-for-a-scarf month. Whether you’re trudging through melted snow-slush or enjoying some early spring temps (we’re jealous), the year’s still just getting started. There’s still plenty of time for new adventures, checking a few things off that goal sheet and celebrating those special occasions (did you know March 9th is National Crab Meat Day?!?). Even if toasty temps aren’t all the way back yet, do your best to make the most of this month with your personalized March mantra. You know what they say: the world’s your oyster (now we’re wondering when’s National Oyster Day).

There’s a lot to love about March, and not just my new collection of farmers market outfits. My favorite thing about the end of winter and the beginning of spring is seeing how every season serves a purpose (and not just swapping out my winter fuzzy socks for my springtime equally fuzzy socks). Let’s see what new lessons and memories (and new sweaters) this season has in store. With charm like mine, I’m in season all the time. The spring kitchen item I should add to my collection is this spring-themed dessert plate, cute and whimsical, but still practical, just like me!

Your Bio

You are the king or queen of front of house. You're a hit with the regulars and know just how to make everyone feel special. You're also very good at making it seem like you have it all together, but won't let anyone see what the inside of your car looks like. You're the first person your GM sends to an unhappy guest to make things better. Other famous Charmers include Bon Appetit's Brad Leone, Leslie Knope from Parks & Rec, and Joey Tribbiani from Friends.

This spring, I’ve decided that the most in-fashion thing to be is myself. I’m taking inventory of the greatest things about my wardrobe: my kindness, my creativity and the love I show to those around me (and that pastel crochet bucket hat I’ll be styling all season). This month, I’m looking forward to dancing in rain puddles, new decisions and new memories. I guess you could say I march to the beat of my own drum (get it?). The spring kitchen item I should add to my collection is this floral coffee mug, bubbly, colorful and can brighten up any room, just like me!

Your Bio

You are always coming up with new ideas, and don't like the "old" way of doing things. You're like Fernet, either people love you or they pretend to. You enjoy mixing things up and may or may not have unironically owned a Fedora at one point (it was the 2010s ok!?). Other famous Creatives include Phoebe Buffay from Friends and Luna Lovegood from Harry Potter.

Finally, socially-acceptable-to-grill-outside-again season is here. But fulfilling my charbroiled dreams isn’t the only thing I love about spring. A new season means new memories, new opportunities and new excuses to add to my culinary blowtorch collection. This March, I'm making sure to take new chances, try new things and turn up the heat (well, to the mid-50’s that is). The spring kitchen item I should add to my collection is this earth-toned mini grill, always on the go, good under pressure and not afraid of the heat, just like me!

Your Bio

You can really work in any position front or back of house, but feel most at home on or near expo. You are high energy and can sometimes be aggressive (or just aggressively positive). You've expressed your fair share of "WOO!"s and "LET'S GOOOOO"s. You love the rush and are usually down to go out for a nightcap after closing. Other famous Pushers include Gordon Ramsey and Matty Matheson.

Spring might, arguably, be one of the best times to give out flowers. And this month, I’m making sure I get some for myself. Through every season, I put in the work, and it’s time I start giving myself a well-deserved pat on the back (and maybe a post-work tub of cookies n’ cream ice cream). I give every season my all, and it’s time I make sure I’m giving back to myself, too. Whether that’s squeezing in an extra nap, ordering that large drink instead of the medium, or finally getting Hulu without ads, I’m making sure that this month I’m treating myself. The spring kitchen item I should add to my collection is this garden-themed spatula set, not always the most noticed, but pretty necessary to get the job done, just like me!

Your Bio

You are calm, stable, and dependable. You always get your work done and don't make waves unless someone else doesn't put in their fair share. You may or may not be approaching burnout, but admitting it would be a sign of weakness. The random kitchen object that best represents your personality is a trusty (but a lil' crusty) frying pan. Other famous Workhorses include Sydney from The Bear and Peggy Olson from Mad Men.

The beginning of spring is a lot like a raspberry pie, a little tart at first, but super sweet by the end. This month, I’m doing more than swapping out my cozy winter crochet kit for my floral spring collection, I’m swapping out old habits, old ways of thinking and that old pint of blueberries I forgot were still in the fridge. I’m looking forward to new ways to show up for my loved ones, new memories and new ways to show up for myself (and maybe a few more weeks of cold-enough-for-countless-hugs-weather). The spring kitchen item I should add to my collection is this rose-colored cake stand, one of a kind and always carrying a sweet surprise, just like me!

Your Bio

You don't have to be a woman, but like a mother, you are caring and loving and also know alllll the tea. You're the go-to person when a coworker needs life advice or a shoulder to cry on. Other Moms include Sugar from The Bear and Lorelai from Gilmore Girls.

Stopping to smell the roses has never been my strongsuit; I’m usually on to the next task, cleaning up a mess or mapping out my calendar (for the next 3 months). But this spring, I’m taking a different approach. I’ve realized it’s hard to enjoy a season when you’re always busy planning for the next one, and it’s hard to enjoy the flowers when you’re focusing on the dirt. This spring I’m going to do my best to live in the moment, to appreciate the beauty of the everyday and find joy in the simple (and maybe take another shot at starting that strawberry garden). The spring kitchen item I should add to my collection is this floral ceramic berry basket: carries a lot, and looks good while doing it, just like me!

Your Bio

You run the show and are likely a GM or other manager. You're often stressed out but still able to pull through and get shit done. You sometimes have outbursts but anger it's not your primary emotion. You are friendly, but probably not besties with most of the staff. Other famous Leaders include Carmy from The Bear, Selina Meyer from VEEP, and Tony Soprano.

I'm such a big fan of winter that sometimes I wish I could extend it (where can I apply to be Punxsutawney Phil?). While I’ll miss the slower, more relaxed and ideal weather for mid-day naps that make up the winter, I’m excited for what’s next. In fact, my favorite things about the winter might be coming to an end, but that just means there’s room for new favorite things, like taking nature walks or figuring out what a cherry blossom looks like. I guess you could say the spring is pretty cool in its own way. The spring kitchen item I should add to my collection is a hydrangea spoon rest, not the loudest, but far too memorable to forget, just like me!

Your Bio

You are a mystery to us all (and even yourself). You show up and don't talk much but when you do say something it's typically quite profound. You're not usually managing anything and are ok with going with the flow. Although quiet, you would be missed if you weren't there. You can be slightly aloof but in a likable way. Other famous Quiet Mysteries include Hyde from That 70's Show (not an endorsement of Danny Masterson), Mama Coco from Coco, and Stanley from The Office.

You know what they say: the world’s your oyster (now we’re wondering when’s National Oyster Day).

Although I’m getting ready early for my favorite pastime, spring cleaning, I’m trying to remember that some of the best parts of life are a little messy. Whether it’s mistakes I’ve made that taught me a valuable lesson, unexpected plot twists that turned into sweet memories or folks I never saw coming who have become people I love, sometimes the best things are unplanned, and maybe even a little disorganized. The spring kitchen item I should add to my collection is a vegetable-themed vase, neat and tidy, but stylish and memorable, just like me!

Your Bio

Some may describe you as anal or having an "it's just business" approach, but really you just enjoy the challenge of working in a restaurant (and you really like to be the best at it). If you worked in a traditional corporate setting, you'd probably be in trouble with HR because of the less-than-delicate way you handle others' mistakes. At your core though you take pride in what you do and think others should too. You might be a sommelier or executive chef. Other famous Perfectionists include Sherlock Holmes (the Benedict Cumberbatch version), Miranda Priestly from Devil Wears Prada, and Ralph Fiennes in The Menu.
