What was DMV restaurant sales growth in August 2026?
The trailing 4-week (28-day) average of year-over-year (YoY) sales growth for DMV restaurants in August 2026 came in at:
| Segment | YoY Sales Growth (28-day avg.) |
|---|---|
| Fast Casual | +0% |
| Full Service | +1% |
In last month's 7-day moving average chart, both segments were a bit slow for the majority of August. The best day for both segments was August 30th, with Fast Casual peaking around +2% growth and Full Service with +5% growth!
Delivery as a percentage of overall sales accounted for 11.43% of sales for the DMV, down again from last month, and 12.74% nationwide.
| REGION | DELIVERY AS A PERCENTAGE OF OVERALL SALES |
|---|---|
| DMV | 11.43% |
| Nationwide | 12.74% |
While performance wasn't as positive as we were hoping for, neither segment ended below last year, and it's likely that things will smooth out into fall once we get past the summer to the back-to-school transition next month. With Labor Day coming up, we're hopeful for a stronger September!
We'll see you next month!
