Restaurant Sales - DC - January 2026
Here are the DMV restaurant sales for January 2026!
Fast Casual and Full Service DMV restaurant sales saw positive growth all month long, until taking a turn, thanks to historic snow and ice at the end of the month.
Last month, Fast Casual came in at -4% down at the end of January compared to January 2025 sales. Full Service ended the month -8% down from the same time last year. While these numbers look disappointing, the 7-day moving average chart shows a more nuanced story.
In last month's 7-day moving average chart, both segments saw a very strong start to the month with positive growth peaking at +12% for Fast Casual and +9% for Full Service over the week of January 10th. There's a sharp drop coinciding with the winter storm that hit the area on January 24th.
Delivery as a percentage of overall sales accounted for 17.17% of sales for the DMV, up slightly from last month, which is unsurprising given the extreme weather, and 14.5% nationwide.
With January sales being so strong prior to the storm, we're looking forward to continued sales growth in February and especially during the Super Bowl and Valentine's Day weekend!
We'll see you next month!
