May brought growth for DMV restaurant sales!

After a slight dip in April, DMV restaurants saw sales boosts for both Full Service and Fast Casual segments and ended the month with positive growth across the board thanks to Memorial Day Weekend.

Full Service's year-over-year monthly sales ended up at 5% growth for May, with Fast Casual trailing behind just barely at 4% growth.

Across a 7-day moving average, Full Service ended the month at 3% with a killer last week and a half of the month, peaking around 14%. Fast Casual fared similarly in May, peaking around 11% during the first week of the month.

Overall sales ended up positive at 3% during the last week of May, and the majority of the month was very positive sales-wise. Memorial Day Weekend definitely contributed to that last big jump and if it's any indication of what's to come this summer, we're extra ready for even more of those kinds of sales numbers!

Delivery sales finally saw some movement last month, dropping for both the DMV (at 9%) and nation-wide (at 12%). While this would've been 4 months of consistent delivery sales, we're happy to see diners coming back in-house more often.

See you in July!
