Ice Hot! DC’s Off to a Fast Start

It looks like this winter’s unseasonably warm weather, along with below-average snowfall levels, has sent restaurant sales soaring for restaurants in the nation’s capital. Both full-service and fast-casual restaurants enjoyed a bumper start to the decade, with sales up 5.87% and 4.67% respectively. Together, sales were up 5.49% this January compared to last.

Washington, DC was just named “Most Exciting Food City in America” by Bloomberg, and judging by January’s numbers, diners are taking full advantage of the city’s culinary scene. Full-service in particular should be happy with the accolade and pleased to see such a strong start to the year.
